wild rubber process

About the process
Only in the Amazon rainforest rubber trees grow wildly. Rubber tappers collect the latex, which is the sap of the trees in the deepness of the rainforest. The trees can be productive for generations. The latex is brought to a production unit near the family’s house where the liquid will coagulate into rubber. The production method is easy, clean and smoke-free. Each family help to conserve an average of 360 hectares when they are able to make a living from this rainforest product. Because of this, rubber tappers are considered guardians of the Amazon rainforest.

BIO LEATHERS | PRODUCTION

About the process
Amadeu Leathers are produced by local cooperatives in remote areas of the Northwest Brazil. The project is a model for the development of socio-biodiversity productive chains in the country. There are approximately 200 local producers working in the field, which 40% are women and ten young apprentices. This productive chain contributes to preserve local culture and enhance communities quality of life while taking care of the rainforest.
All the the treatment given to crocodilian leather respects valued certifications and high strict criteria of socio-environmental licenses.
